A conservative high-order method utilizing dynamic transfinite mortar elements for flow simulations on curved nonconforming sliding meshes

We introduce two concepts in this work: polynomial mortar and transfinite mortar, apply them to curved nonconforming sliding meshes. It is shown that, on meshes, always carries geometric errors while has no such errors, which makes the latter superior former almost every aspect. For example, better accuracies introduces smaller numerical disturbances. The proposed sliding-mesh method utilizing conservative, arbitrarily high-order accurate space, retains order of accuracy a time marching scheme, does not change flow characteristics, minimum sliding-speed effects. by far most thoroughly studied method. This can be extended applied wide range problems, as propellers, wind turbines, stirred tanks, etc.
